Where is the event going to take place?
This year’s Turkey Trot has flown the coop and is taking place in your neighborhood! Unfortunately, we can’t all flock together at Nevad Union's Hooper Sstadium, due to COVID-19 mandates. However, we believe that this tradition can’t be canceled! We will be supplying you with your event tee-shirt ahead of time so you can Run the Race Before you Stuff Your Face any time you want during Thanksgiving Week.
Why not just cancel the event?
This event was established to raise funds for suicide prevention and awareness. During these troubling times the need has never been more great. Our goal is to put on the best event we can during this pandemic to help those in need.
Why aren't we gathering at Nevada Union High School like usual?
Per Governor Gavin Newsom’s orders, large events and gatherings are not currently permitted to happen. Trust us, we would love to spend the day in the stadium, feeling the cool autumn breeze while seeing all of your smiling faces, but it’s just not in the cards for 2020. Please do not gather at Nevada Uion High School on Thanksgiving Morning.
How do I get my 15th Annual MEB2 Turkey Trot tee-shirt?
There are two ways to ensure that you receive your long sleeved tee-shirt:
Ship It: We are happy to mail you your shirts! To ensure that you receive a shirt, you must be registered by November 17th. When registering, please check the box that indicates you’d like your shirt shipped to you. There is an additional charge.
Packet Pick-up: Live locally and prefer to save on shipping costs? Join us at Nevada Union High School Wednesday, November 25th from 12 – 2pm for a drive-thru tee-shirt pick-up. Have your registration confirmation email handy as well as your ID. If you are picking up shirts for family members, be sure to have their confirmation email as well.
If I don't live near Grass Valley can I still register?
Of course! We get runners from all over the country who register for the Turkey Trot. The silver lining of the race being virtual this year is that there is no limit to where you can trot – near, far, where ever you are!
How do I submit my race time?
Under the event tab find the "submit results" page. Here you can enter your time and the distance you ran 5K/10K. You will need your participant ID found on your confirmation email from registration to submit your trime.
What COVID-19 modifications will be in place at the tee-shirt pick-up?
For the safety of all participants, volunteers and staff we ask that you please wear a face covering and physically distance yourself from others when possible. All staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings.
Will there be awards for 1st-3rd place in each age group?
Yes, we will contact you if you placed in your age group to collect your medal after Thanksgiving morning. For those that live out of town we will gladly mail you your medal.
Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?
No. Unfortunately, there are no refunds for the 2020 Virtual MEB2 Turkey Trot. However, you may allow a family member or friend to participate in your place. Please contact us via email to change your registration.
Can I just make a donation to the MEB2 Foundation?
Yes of course, you can find the donate button at the top of our home page. If you are also wanting a shirt with your donation, you could just register for the walk.
